    Clues for Your Hike

    1. From the parking area, take the paved path near the short white fence away from the parking area. The pavilion will be on your left.
    2. Turn right at the T and head up the hill. At the top of the hill, turn right with the fence on your left.
    3. Carefully walk along the road of the park entrance. At the top of the road, turn left onto the gravel path.
    4. When you reach the pavilion, walk down the steps and pass the pavilion on your left.
    5. Turn left just after the pavilion and exit onto the paved path where there is a break in the guardrail.
    6. Walk down the path, with the river on your right and locate the post just ahead on your left.
    7. Continue on the path and head toward the next pavilion. Notice the very cool cow art on your left.
    8. Turn left at the pavilion and back to the parking area.

    • Stegosaurus, meaning “roofed lizard,” is an herbivorous four-legged armored dinosaur from the late Jurassic period.
    • They have distinctive kite-shaped upright plates along their backs and spikes on their tails.
    • Stegosaurus had a brain about the size of a walnut, and paleontologists once thought they had a brain in their butt.
